London, Paris and finally Shanghai. Not surprisingly, I see Yifang Wan everywhere. She is one of the NEW WAVE of Chinese-born, London-based (CBLB) designers that I am really starting to covet. Her SS14 green Lurex had me jumping about on my Fashion Scout (London) banquette last season.
So, seeing the SS14 glinting emerald green hanging beautiful at Dong Liang Studio in Shanghai reminded me of how fantastically talented this designer is. Only in her fourth season, this Central Saint Martin's graduate and L'Oréal Professional Young Designer Award winners' AW14 collection seeks inspiration in artists and sculptors where comfort and ease is the key.
Yifang Wan's collections are always beautifully executed and relaxed tailoring is ever-present in her pieces. In this season though, there is an even softer silhouette, which hints at maturity with allure. Materials include very supple wool and knitted mohair and my FAVOURITE: gleaming silver fleck speckle finish. Colours see light and dark grey, deep navy, blue green, wine red and pale lilac - keeping it gently feminine.
But it's the half fur effect sports trousers that I am crazy about in an autumnal red wine and the oversized sleeveless work wear jacket. Personal orders?
