There is something about a man in a beautiful crisp and tailored shirt that sends me weak at the knees. It's not that I don't appreciate sweats and tees, it's just they don't have the same effect.
The English Artisan - by Charlie Allen has just that. 'The Urban Gentleman' denim story in chambray and cotton fabrics have got to be the ones I love most. I love the brand's detailing, keyhole buttoning and ribbed collars - very classic but always with a twist!
Who's behind the label? Charlie Allen, a third generation tailor ex-Chelsea School of Art and Royal Collage of Art with a 25-year-old successful bespoke tailoring business and Joshua Scacheri, ex-head designer at Australian brand Subfusco and part of forecast agency Scout. A TEAM indeed!
All shirts are made in England at The English Artisan company workroom in North London. Every shirt is hand cut and made with fabrics sourced from English, Italian and Japanese mills. Each collection will be limited to a maximum of 50 pieces, although the fabrics are available to made-to-measure clients too.
The English Artisan - by Charlie Allen includes other styles such as THE HYBRID with references to the Charlie Allen '80s cardigan design. If you think of a Perry Como crooner look in cotton, you get the vibe!
There is also, THE BLOOM printed floral design on soft cord. It's very vintage with a Western fling! Everything is made with the immaculate Charlie Allen tailoring finish of course.
