Shoes are the cherry on the cake of the fabulous outfits on display.
And the footwear department has its own set of trends each season, so,let’s see what to expect for AW2019,as per the runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York.
One of the best things about Autumn Winter shoe fashions are the fabulous boots that parade the catwalks. And for AW2019 statement boots are the name of the game, with bright colours, bold prints, unconventional materials and textures and generous flamboyant embellishments.
Think puffer jacket boots at United Colours of Benetton, crystal encrusted boots at Off-White, high-shine lace-ups in bright pink & red patent leather at Prada, Zebra boots at Maryam Nassir Zadeh and floral prints at Zimmerman, Staud and Brock Collection.
Chunky sneakers are getting an upgrade for FW19, with Collina Strada adding a tie-die twist, two-tone bejewelled sneakers at Burberry, light-up LV Trainer Sneaker Boots at Louis Vuitton and removable fur accents at Sacai.
Thick, chunky soles were en-vogue, as seen at Dries Van Noten, Stella Mccartney, Boss, Michael Kors, Tadashi Shoji, as were elongated toes like those at Proenza Schouler, Sies Marjan and Rosie Assoulin.
Comfort focused almost utilitarian shoe options were popular, including Ugg mules at EckhausLatta, fluffy slip-ons at Phillip Limand ,Teva sandals at Greta Constantine, Telfar, Collina Strada and PH5.
In the colour department lilacs, violets and purples are having their moment in the spotlight, with Tom Ford, Cushnie, Kate Spade, Prabal Gurung and Nanushka all putting their best feet forward with purple /lilac offerings.
Brown seems to be overtaking black as the new staple colour for AW19, with knee-high lace ups at Michael Kors, and neutral, earthyday boots at Marc Jacobs, Max Mara and Tory Burch. Tod's went utilitarian and Versace as well as Phoebe English went with clumpy, lace-up worker boots.
