MBFWB- Dimitrios Panagiotopoulos - Greek Goddesses

Dimitrios Panagiotopoulos’ pieces are created from bright colours, ethnic patterns and sharp contrasts. The 38- year-old designer has always been inspired by the myths and turbulent history of his homeland – Greece.

(null) This year's Fall/Winter 2015 collection is dominated by links from the folk aesthetics of the 70’s, and the classic draping of ancient Greek robes, which are combined with handmade elements and leather work. Bold colours like magenta or lime, together with delicate nudes, brown tones and shimmering golds work together, dominating the collection. Shades of purple and green are also woven into the ethnic fabric designs, as well as the accessories which add a sophisticated touch, creating an overall harmony throughout the collection.

(null) A wide range of wool and silk fabrics, leather, jersey, Crepe de Chine and supple cashmere are the predominant materials used in the collection.

(null) This season Panagiotopoulos has clearly mastered the discipline of creating soft flowing dresses and working with sophisticated materials such as rope and leather. His strengths include playing with fabrics, and traditional craft techniques such as applying lichens, embroidery and quilting. The collection for Fall/Winter 2015 celebrates the full range of feminine facets. It also acts to refine the iconic female fashion with evening and cocktail dresses as well as portable ready-to -wear pieces inspired by Greek goddesses

(null) For the first time Panagiotopoulos also presented jewellery, accessories and shoes on the catwalk .
