Bora Aksu is the ultimate poetic romantic. His AW15 collection is based on a belief in love, heroism and sacrifice, and draws its inspiration from Oscar Wilde’s “The Nightingale and the Rose”.
The Nightingale is the story, the rose is the aesthetic, the result is an emotional journey told through a colour palette of lovelorn royal blues, optimistic golds and dusty pinks and finally, mournful blacks. It is through the intricate feather and rose details and embroidery that Aksu really brings the story to life. The materials are a rich variation of lush leathers and treated sheepskins juxtaposed with gold threads and silk laces. Long voluminous textured skirts are balanced by tailored or cropped jackets, creating a lean yet rich silhouette, with a distinctly sophisticated femininity that displayed both strength and delicate finesse
