Staging a guerrilla fashion show in a public park, Julian Zigerli ensured his event had an air of mystique and exclusivity to it which was only made more elite and private by select guests being informed of this secret location via text message ( nearly missed it ) earlier in the day. His Spring/Summer 2016 collection entitled ‘White Rabbit’ is inspired by a recent trip to Japan and is an exploratory journey into the dark and light contrasts that are so prevalent in the country. Cute flirtation can be both innocent and at the same time dark and twisted.
The pieces have a cartoon aesthetic, with exaggerated proportions, fake shadow effects (fabulous effect on the transparencies), ink stains and wooden finishing all on really easy shapes. The dramatic dimensions are heightened with the colour palette of light blues, greys especially on the suites and darker tones.
Models are accessorized with the fun and fashion-forward over-sized eyewear by Lunettes Kollektion and Julian Zigerli in pinks reds, golds and blues.
