It is the best the collection I have seen of Dennis Basso so far! And I promise it's not to do with the crochet ( which is known to turn my head)!!!! Is it me or was the collection aimed at a younger woman?
Vibrant, hot and as glamorously confident as the Latina women who inspired the pieces, Dennis Basso’s SS2016 collection makes a bold statement with its colours, cuts, prints and textures.
Basso was influenced by the gregarious and expressive styles of the fiercely strong women from Mexico City, Havana, Rio, Buenos Aires, Panama City and all the Central and South American cities in between.
Made for women who dress to not only to look good but also feel good, the palette is a mixture of bright primary colours and blacks with daring and self-assured prints – often with an organic floral or nature-inspired feel. Very mexican flavoured embroidery and some beautiful soft lilac pastels . And some gold pieces of course!!!
Using a fabulous array of textures and materials, his signature, such as chiffon, printed lace, CROCHET & embroidery, Basso’s pieces embrace the female form with drop-waist tiered silhouettes, lots of floaty trousers, covetable wrap tops, high-cut shorts and handkerchief skirts. Divine!
