Having made a name for itself in the industry as a pursuer of precision and clarity, it was a nice change to see the house of Jil Sander take a softer, more languid, almost romantic approach in its Spring Summer 2016 collection.
The cuts that are usually so straight and commanding have more of a supple flexibility to them, with fluid satins, silks and plongée leathers bringing an air of dreamy nonchalance and sensuality.
White, light blue, sand and charcoal accented with notes of rust and deep blue make up the delicate colour palette, while details such as folds, sashes, knots and cut-outs create interesting textures and silhouettes.
And of course if you add the Hats and shoes that so elegantly captured the mood well you know that this was truly an eye opener for me ! It was a moment for a thought on one of my favourite personas - 'Vita Sackville West' .
