We managed to get a few minutes with Irene and Edymar, the two girls behind Viene Fashion Truck, on the eve of their launch in Panama
What was the inspiration behind Fashion Truck? One day we were thinking that it would be really cool to open a shop. We started looking at shop decorations and while we were researching, we came across a fashion truck in America. Seeing as something like this has never been done in Panama, we thought it would be a really great and innovative idea, for something new in the country.
And how did get the project from an idea to a reality? Once we had given some serious thought to how well this idea would work for us, we started investigating the logistics and realised that there are some really great advantages to the Fashion Truck. Once we had decided to actually do it, we then found a truck, redecorated it and then started thinking about what we were going to put in it.
Edy has great taste and style, so she started doing some online networking, contacting local designers. We got a great response from individual designers in Columbia, Costa Rica, Venezuela as well as at home in Panama. We really do have some great designers on board and we want to keep it like this every month bringing new designers and fresh pieces to our store.
What can the Fashion Truck’s shoppers expect to find? Although we don’t have a huge collection at the Fashion Truck, our prices are accessible and each of our pieces is unique and from an independent designer. This is the concept we are trying to promote and support. We love the idea that the Fashion Truck is a shop goes to you!
While we are not travelling, for the moment the truck will be stationed from Monday to Saturday in front of Rock and Folk in San Francisco in Panama City.
