All streets in Rome are charming, elegant and atmospheric, but there is something about Via Del GovernoVecchio that is particularly alluring.
Perhaps it’s all the cosy little bars with their candlelit interiors or perhaps it’s the propensity of excellent vintage shops such as VestitiUsatiCinzia at number 45.
The quirky owner started the shop on the request of his daughter and how right she was! The cavernous little shop is narrow but long and is stacked full of racks and racks of expertly hand-picked retro and vintage clothing and accessories.
Sequinned short jackets, tasselled waistcoats, floral print dresses, shoes galore, handbags, glasses, lacramé, flares, you name it. And all a very decent prices for pricey Rome. Just don’t try and touch the little black dog – it doesn’t like humans and is as snobby as some of the fur clad ladies of Via Vittorio Veneto.
