I’m usually so busy working when I travel that having time to check out the sites of a city can be a bit of a luxury; so when I got the chance to return to El Palacio Real Madrid and the gorgeous Sabatini Gardens I felt I needed something of a powerful look.
I have a passion for Khaki! For me it's always been the new black, and this particular piece – an 80's Thierry Mugler, with big shoulders semi concealed pockets and a clinched waist – always makes me feel good! The cut is stupendous because it's close to the body and the folds give the Illusion of curves which works for me as I am seriously straight up and down!
The 1980's was the era of oversized and over the top. It's was the time of the power suit, as woman started getting to the top of the game. It was the time of TV shows like Dallas and Dynasty, big hair, bold make up and lots of statement jewellery.
My only concession to the 80's is a pair of played down gold courts, otherwise my gorgeous black and white fringed 'one and only' bag is about the only statement I want to make.
And to shelter from the air-conditioning in the showrooms I will be using my trusty Eleni Kyriacou cape - which covers everything including my bag!
