Diamonds are supposed to be a girl’s best friend, and if there is one diamond that would make most girls go weak at the knees, it’s one that comes in an iconic light blue box and more specifically, one which is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year – the Tiffany® Setting ring. But I've really never looked into its history, so it was rather lovely when Giulia at THE PLACE in Madrid took time out to give me a tour of the history behind the brand.
A global authority in the world of diamonds,Tiffany & Co.is celebrating the world-famous engagement ring’s 130th birthday with a year of events to honour the timeless style of this iconic piece that was created in 1886 by the jeweller’s founder,Charles Lewis Tiffany. Charles wanted to create a ring that would highlight the beauty of brilliant-cut diamonds, with an innovative design and an exquisite carving which would maximize the light reflected by the exquisite stone.
In honour of the artisans who create the stunning ring, Tiffany & Co is rolling out a year long advertising campaign to illustrate the unique beauty, high-quality,heritage and reputation for craftsmanship of the Tiffany® Setting engagement ring.
The ad campaign emphasises exactly what sets the Tiffany® Setting ring apart from other engagement rings explained by the real artisans who hand cut, hand polish and handcraft the rings exactly as they were done 130 years ago – in an unparalleled tradition of excellence.
Tiffany & Co rejects 99.96% of the world’s gem-grade diamonds, meaning the gems used in their engagement rings are of the most superior quality in the world and the artisans feel a deep sense of pride and privilege to be crafting such beautiful and time-honoured pieces.
Could these precious diamonds may truly be the way to a woman’s heart!
