Late last year I attended a Yoga beat class in Tenerife. Spurred on by my amazingly beautiful teacher Emily her company Yoga Vibe had organised the event. Looking at some of the moves that David teaches - it was with some trepidation I agreed to go . But then David Sye is not conventional for one he's covered in fantastic tattoes and his classes include ever club music, alcohol and chocolate. Entrigued and concluding that this mix might keep away the holy than though expert yoga types , I went. It was fantastic.
David is back in Tenerife this weekend can you miss it ? All levels are invited !!!
What got you into Yoga in the first place!
I became interested in yoga (Tibetan Yoga) when I was racked with crippling intestinal complications from diviculitis and a spastic colon and ulcerated colitis ,..and was headed for an intestinal by pass operation ,..the Yoga therapists and the therapy produced a 100% cure and forever altered the entire course of my life !
Briefly how would differentiate Yoga Beats from what's on offer at the moment.
Yogabeats was always supported by Physiotherapists Osteopaths and body workers when I returned to the uk in 1995 after I escaped the horrors of the Bosnian war ,.but was literally ' cold shouldered' by the all the major Yoga associations as it incorporated spontaneous movements ( micro movements) which allows the body of any practitioner to practice within their own limitations and with the added addition of rhythmic club music ( which cuts out the thinking logical mind and links the body into different rythms) the practitioner will feel energy where before they were tired and through the practice the practitioner finds liberation! ( traditionally yoga is taught in static poses in reverential silence ,..so I was nick named " The Bad Boy of Yoga)
In 2010 I was awarded the honour of being nominated as a Yoga Elder and now I tour the world teaching those same yoga associations that first turned away from me ! Yogabeats has been called the original Fascia movement yoga and as such has become the centre of much study amongst yoga associations and teachers.
Your session on the 11th June is different because 100% of the ticket price is going to your charity ' Yogabeats Conflict Project tell us a bit about it
