Chinese menswear has become ever more prevalent on the international scene recently and it’s all thanks to amazing & exciting designers like New York based, but Chinese born XimonLee.
The H&M award-winning designer only started his own eponymous label XIMONLEE last year, however his meticulous and highly original work has already made a strong impact in the industry.
His Spring Summer 2017 collection named “HARD” is inspired by the journey of a boy growing into manhood, and how his perception of that which is hard and tough is framed by his preconceptions. This is shown through the use of fragile materials, tailored in hard silhouettes. Juggling between the conventional and the unconventional, the collection uses harsh contrasts and techniques including latex coating, acid-wash and tailored tarpaulin and denim
Absolutely crazy about his oversized chalk style jackets outlined by hand painted stripes and all of his chunky rib knits especially the long trousers. I just want to see more - in awe !
