Vin and Omi are well known for their colourful, vibrant and quirky collections and most probably more recently for the costumes which the London design duo created for Edina’s long-suffering assistant Bubble in Absolutely Fabulous the movie .
I've been a fan for years, and their AW2016 Colourotic collection certainly doesn’t disappoint! While the tailoring of the collection is simple and structured, the colours are characteristically bright and multi-hued ranging from brilliant blues, pinks and purples, to dazzling metallic, intense reds, oranges and an assortment of greens.
Colours are always used in blocks, never together, making for a striking collection of looks for all occasions.
You’d think that the block colours would give this collection a flat feel, but Vin and Omi use a combination of different materials to give more shape, volume and texture.
Evening dresses are embellished with sequins, crop tops are made of textured lace, long gowns are fringed with silk and neck collars are ruffled. The collection also features an assortment of latex, fur and flower appliques for an added touch of je ne sais quoi.
