Although Thomas Wyldes SS17 is almost in boutiques now, I am still hoping to pick up something from the 90291 collection for this winter. There's still plenty of cold spells ahead and I just love crimson for Xmas and he's has plenty.
The 90291 collection was a nod to the brands roots in Venice, California, and captured the creative energy of the vibrant subcultures who call the area home. Surfers, skaters, artists and musicians were brought to life in a glamorous juxtaposition of wearability and individualism, with luxury and opulence.
Effortlessly sophisticated, the collection is made up of crimsons, deep blacks, greys and whites, using a variety of materials from leathers, furs, cashmere and ruched chiffons, embellished with buckles, zips and diamond-cut studs.
Using ruffles to emphasize the street-meets-couture concept, the collection features favourites such as a stunning high-in-front, low-in-back day dress, plain chiffon dresses and tops with sweeping sleeves, a fly-away cape and a pure cashmere knit poncho.
Although the cocktail dresses, breathtaking eveningwear and slick menswear had me drooling, it was the studded leather jackets and bumster trousers that I really loved. Must be my inner biker chick coming out!
