I love this new generation of fashion designers that are exploding onto the scene right now. And any one of them that has a sniff of my favourite era the 70´s make it all the more exciting for me. Chinese designer Sean Suen, who presented his second ever collection at Paris Fashion Week this week played with the era ever so lightly.. disco gold and spread out collars.....
Always innovative and fresh, for his Autumn Winter 2017 collection, Sean experiments with boxy shapes, clean lines and unusual detailing, creating a wardrobe of classic looks, tailored and reinvented for a more youthful audience.
However, this is by no means urban street wear. This is high-fashion, structured silhouettes, innovative and experimental use of fabrics and colours, like the gorgeousness of ox blood and slate, resulting in an altogether revitalised aesthetic.
A wide variety of materials are used, creating an interesting play of textures from the soft sensuality of silk and cashmere, to the rebellious attitude of leather. I adored the shearling bomber jacket and the suede trench coat. Layering the pieces for a complete look, Sean connects layers using buttons and two-way zips, accentuating the youthful element in the collection.
Chic, classic yet highly contemporary, this collection is for the man who grew up admiring his Grandfather’s wardrobe but yearning for something cooler, younger and more up-to-date
