I adored the soft leather bomber jackets with contrasting shearling, and I also loved Oliver’s stunning colour palette with autumnal burnt oranges and forest greens enhanced by the contrasting bright powder blues, blush pinks and grays. And yes finally its time to see these pieces on the street for FW17.
Oliver Spencer’sAutumn/Winter 2017 collection is a perfect example of his brand’s now well-established reputation for producing quality and handcrafted premium tailoring, but in a relaxed modern style.
The pieces are inspired by the simpler and more pared-back menswear of today, with a reference to the roots of music and fashion with the incorporation of the ‘Velvethead’ twist.
Although Oliver’s signature cropped trousers can be seen throughout the collection, there are a number of new looks and new pieces such as the introduction of oversized parka coats which can become rucksacks, new roll neck jumpers,long-line jackets and stacked sole plimsolls.
The occasional use of blackwatch plaid and clean wide horizontal zig-zag stripes, brings new graphical elements to the soft velvets, corduroys and wools with leather that Oliver uses in this collection.
