Ive never been to a Daniela Gregis show so it was an honour to get invited to see the collection from the FROW in the beautiful setting of the Oratorio della Passione, at Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, Milan,
The designer is involved in the whole show settings and it felt more like a painting then a catwalk, with looks for all ages and genders that are timeless. Materials are definitely the wow factor here dyed and printed with miraculous precision. This is slow fashion at its ultimate. Even the invites are a memento to keep.
This season Daniela Gregis went to the sea for inspiration, exploring the movement of waves and transforming that movement into lines, fabrics, thread and prints.
The chic elegance of the collection is characterised by simplicity and minimalism.
Stripes are a key feature, with models of all ages hitting the catwalk in nautical-style stripes shirts, dresses, trousers and skirts in lightweight easy breezy materials. The bags are a fabulous unique mix of crotchet knit
Waists are sometimes clinched in with woven maritime belt, while oversized trench coats and all-encompassing sun hats embrace a summer island vibe. Block reds, bright oranges, greys and earthly tones complete the collection.
