It’s not often that a debut collection will be so well attended that not all guests will make it inside, but the Last Heirs collective had to turn people away at their introductory 'Works in Progress' SS18 collection show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin.
Run by lea Roth and Maximilian Dörner, the Berlin-based fashion collective celebrates diversity and questions gender binaries by creating experimental unisex collections like 'Works in Progress'.
Bringing together young international talent from around the world, Last Heirs’ SS18 collection plays with the concepts of discipline, construction and application. The pieces were presented in a conceived atelier were models were creating garments using sewing machines and screen prints. The audience could walk around freely, reflecting the brand’s ethos for inclusivity and freedom of expression. The collection itself moves between club culture and workwear, with PVC, lacquer, Japanese Sashiko and denim the predominant materials in block blues, oranges, blacks and whites.
Hyped for sure but seriously wearable crazy about the plastic back sweat .
