Everyone who knows me, knows that one of my real loves is fashion with a cause, so when one of the world’s all-time music and fashion icons, Debbie Harry from Blondie, walked for VIN + OMI’s Spring Summer 18 collection ahead of London Fashion Week, to raise awareness of the global issue of plastic waste polluting our oceans and rivers, I was ecstatic.
The show took place at the Andaz London in East London where the brand itself started out, and the environmental theme was reiterated throughout the collection with pieces emblazoned with bold statements such as Stop Fucking The Planet; Resist; Deft and Hope.
The design duo have long been working to find ways to use sustainable materials in fashionand this season they collaborated with rPET fabrics, made using recycled plastic bottles.
The results are glorious, with models strutting down the catwalk in contemporary street wear inspired pieces including a gorgeous sparkling blue dress and some funky oversized t-shirt dresses. Which is def on my HIT LIST for SS18
