If there is a brand that makes me think of summer immediately its got to be Byblos.
Maybe its got to do with a host load of summers that I spent between Montecarlo and Cannes when I was younger, its definitely a firm favourite at the clubs and beach restaurants. The colours always work so well with THE TANS!!.
A mash up between the powerful masculine samurai and the delicate feminine geisha, Byblos’ SS18 collection is all about the disorient. Diametrically opposing references are fused together creating a theme of contrasts.
Pieces feature Oriental staples such as the Obi – which sees silk bows adorn shoulders, macramé embroidery on military style cropped jackets, necklines which embrace the shape of the body and almost net-like embroidery.
The silhouettes are all about volume with oversized outerwear, extra-long knee-length bomber jackets and jackets with long circular sleeves.
Fluid, floaty dresses and Hanami prints also feature in a collection of kaleidoscopic colours. Which for this Summer season is HUGE.
