The Xmas jumper ... yes or no ?
Before I go into my ideas for your Xmas shopping lists
I thought I would tackle the whole Xmas jumper issue .. whether it’s for women or men it’s certainly had a lot of bad press since I can remember ..
I think it could be the whole Maximilian issue brought about by Gucci or maybe it’s just a nostalgic hankering for the hearth but it’s definitely getting a revival .. so here we go 3 that are not too iffy and I certainly will be including one or two on my Xmas list .. although I think that women are a little bit hard done by so be prepared to grab for the boys ones.
Of course no Xmas choice is going to be without Fair Isle pattern .. so first some history .’Fair Isle’, comes from Shetland archipelago. Because of its extreme winters the wives of the sailors knitted some hefty pullovers utilising various colored strands into a distinctive motif. It was popularised in the 1920’s by Edward Prince of Wales. Discovering its capacity to ward of the winter chill a variety of motifs such as snowflakes fir trees etc have been added to the traditional chevron .
1.Gucci par excellence with the iconic G’s and intertwined into the classic Fair Isle has gotta be the tops
2. Marcus Lupfer - as a lover of all shine his Sequin and embroidery sweaters, and jumpers, are definitely a plus
3. Marks and Spencer have long been a high street favourite Xmas jumper haunt and if you’re over shopping in the uk this December break it’s worth popping into the store they have a cute mistletoe jumper that guarantees you will get kissed this Xmas
