There are still a couple of days left before Christmas and you’re all probably far too busy, to even think about what you’re going to wear. So, let’s explore the options.
Depending where you are in the world, you might celebrate on either the 24th or the 25th, followed by family visits, and then of course, there is the 31st to consider. So in total, it’s only three outfits that you need to plan.
As Christmas tends to be one of the most stressful times of the year, I always say it requires the least stressful outfit possible. I am certainly more of a trouser person and I know that if I am comfortable, then I am going to feel great. Luckily, this season there are plenty of elegant trouser suits available. Personally, for the festive period, I would choose a colour or print suit rather than a black smoking suit. High heels in boot or sandal formwork well, but a flat glittery slipper would be an equally good match.
If you’re a dress person and want to show a bit of leg, the look of the season is undoubtedly a bold shoulder and a mini length. Try and find something in an eye-catching colour to fit the Christmas spirit.
New Years is the occasion where I always take out the sequins and really, it’s my time to just indulge. Whether you go for maximum expression and sparkle the night away, or an over-the-top 80’s revival with bows and flounce, there are no rules for New Year, so get creative and let your imagination run wild!
If you need more guidance, pick up a sleeveless dress in a strong Christmas colour and belt it. I love layering, so often wear a T-shirt or blouse underneath a dress for a more unique look. And shoes for New Year? Heels are great, but I tend to opt for flats because dancing yourself into 2019 is always a good plan!
