Milan can often be more subdued and elegant when it comes to colour and this season, again we saw a lot of yellow and red. Daniela Gregis’ collection was almost entirely red, but for a little light relief in the shape of blue printed dresses and a gorgeous knit hat– which would be the only thing I would wear on my head in winter to keep warm.
Arthur Arbesser used red for his signature stripes, while Francesca Liberatore – whose collection was inspired by a trip to Pakistan, where she is an international expert at UNIDO – went for red fur belts and red lettering on scarves.
Leopard print adorned trousers, bags and coats at Aigner and the ankle length animal print coats at
Laura Biagiotti were to die for, while
Ricostru’s minimalist hot pants and gloves featured a sort of snakeskin print.
And then of course, there was all that gold and tartan at Versace, which succeeded in the epic challenge of topping the Tribute show for Gianni Versace for SS18 even without the impressive repertoire of supermodels past and present.
