True to creative director, Marianna Rosati’s signature form, the DROMe SS18 collection explores the most intimate visions of feminine reality through structure; silhouette; form; fluidity of materials and redefined lines and shapes.
This weekend sitting on the roof top cafe of Tigotan Hotel in Tenerife, I listened to a talk which was part of Tenerife Fashion Weekend on trends by writer/tvhost/influencer Josie and stylist Natalie Ferviu. They mentioned the trenchcoat as one of the most iconic pieces that has been reinterpreted by so many designers. This season the trend being to wear it like dress!
Of course I thought of Drome's delicious piece...
Drome's collection is sensual; strong; energetic, contemporary and romantic. Bold minimalism is accentuated by unusual proportions and loose and draping lines.
Influences range from 90’s references, to Victorian elements and Granny’s vintage knitwear. Jackets have solid shoulder, sleeves are s elaborate and redesigned, elasticated and puffy.
Materials include organza used for light and fluid dresses and skirts, leather used alongside crepe de chine and a heavy usage of smooth and light Nappa leather in armoured bras, tops, textured panels, flounces and ruffles.
