The magic and fantasy of Haute Couture extends far beyond the beautiful gowns, with some of the most spectacular accessories and footwear to complement the looks in Paris for AW19.
First of all, as a passionate lover of rings, I would like to say a big Thankyou to Elie Saab for featuring some DROP DEAD golden coin disk rings .. worthy of any dowry… could this mean the begining of a come back for one of my most favourite accessories.
Foremost on the trend’s spectrum were statement earrings. they were big everywhere I adored the big bling pearls at Yolancris which collaborated with Canarian brand Roselinde’s jewellery. The stunning earrings necklaces rings were inspired by Yolan Cris Haute Couture collection `All the Springs of a Winter ´ a nod to the op art of the 60’s and the graphics of french designer Louis Feraud.
Couture is usually bows, ruffles lace and feathers galore, as seen at Yanina Couture, but headdresses were also a hot look this couture season. Celia Kritharioti featured a fabulous piece created from luxurious white feathers, a beautiful black show-girl style piece and a fierce pointed crystal snow queen crown. Delicate mesh gloves embroidered with pearls were also a strong accessory look from Kritharioti. Pearls are a definitely hot vibe for autumn winter 19 .. I suggest you take out some of your old pieces or filll up from the sales
Veils and mesh face covers were du jour - Gauthier and Dior was glorious , with Agonivich sending models down the runway with their faces completely hidden behind slightly eerie white masks and black, and white caps with translucent veils at Adeline Ziliox.
As for footwear, apart from the thigh length sandals at Dior there were those incredible fluffy orange and turquoise faux fur boots at Antonio Ortega were simply to die for, as were the always elegant embroidered mules by Elli Lyraraki and the undeniably seductive gold and black lace-up knee-high boots at Italian-Persian stylist Farhad Re’s first Couture collection.
