I am always excited about seeing Little Shilpa's collections. I am a great fan of her AW15 range of sweats that can be worn solo/layered or with any of her separate attachments to create different looks. This collection also follows the same principle but the structure of the pieces are such that I would probably stick to adding one of her super brooches or for more impact a headpiece.
Of course , one of my favourite things about fashion is that it allows us all to indulge our inner madness, to satiate our imagination and curiosity and exist in the insanity of our dreams.
Little Shilpa’s Spring Summer collection presented at the Library at London Fashion Week explored these very themes, paying homage to the creator of the original Mad Hatter – Lewis Carroll. Having always been a fan of the mysterious, seductive and twisted world of Alice in Wonderland, I was excited to see how designer Shilpa Chavan would interpret the surreal fantasy of the iconic story.
Using denim as the main material along with crepe, silk and polyester, Shilpa recreates the basic tee in different lengths and variations. Shilpa mixes textures by adding tartan pleats, laser-cut seams and monochrome headpieces as well as a number of different striped prints.
