In a city as stylish, vibrant and eclectic as Beirut there are plenty of excellent hotels that can meet all the travel needs and comforts of a weary fashionista such as myself.
However, in amongst the five-star pile there is one property that is really raising the bar for chic urban luxury in the capital. Standing out from the crowd for its unique character, which merges seamlessly with the understated boutique opulence of the Campbell Gray brand, Le Gray Beirut is the place to see and be seen.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed with an arabesque touch. The huge walk in wardrobe left me delighted and the ample work space was uber convenient for morning emails before breakfast! Talking of breakfast, the hotel’s restaurant serves delicious hot and cold breakfast (my Eggs Benedict was mouth-watering) with stunning views over the mosque and the sophisticated Place de l'Etoile.
The restaurant is also open for dinner where I feasted on the best scallops and tagliatelle with black truffles. The hotel also has a fabulous spa, a gym, an infinity pool looking out over the city and a sophisticated roof bar – oh and did I mention the free Wi-Fi everywhere throughout the hotel.
