We love adding a bit of sparkle to our outfits at Christmasand last week we got a chance to do just that at Flori Gomez Studio at Bulevard23 in the fashionable Triana district of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Her studio is a massive treasure trove for hungry fashionistas. Flori works primarily in 18kt gold, silver, brass and 'cuzin', utilising semi precious stones and Czech crystals for embellishment.
We managed a few moments with Flori in-between clients.
How did Flori Gomez jewellery start?
I started under my father who was in the jewellery buisiness in the 50's. As time has gone by I have evolved the label by adapting it to the preferences and needs of today's woman. My aim is to have very novel and original pieces that constantly change. Which probably means I give myself too much work. I try to stick to just two collections a year - Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer.
What about your inspiration we get a vintage vibe from a lot of the pieces.
I am from Las Palmas although I travel quite a bit. I get my Inspiration from my travels, the street trends and history. That said I can't help going back to the '50's it's a passion. For example this seasons gold collection has a little of the '60's and lots from my own memories of the '70's
Where else can we shop your collections .
Mainly here from my showroom although I do attend a lot of events regularly and do quite a few pop ups. You see, I really enjoy interacting with my clients and proposing different pieces which they wouldn't of otherwise thought of wearing!
Well we certainly didn't need any prompting and came away with a stack full of pieces ready for our Christmas transformation!
